Africa is known for its exceptional wildlife. The wide open plains, the great migration, lion kills and an elephant next to the acacia tree are images that inspire the imagination. I experienced the ultimate African safari in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. The safari I booked was with a small group of people and two vehicles, therefore, my shooting conditions were on the fly. Quick settings, rare opportunities and no ability to leave the vehicle meant that creativity had to be embraced! This is a two part blog: part 1 removes the distraction of colour providing a more intimate view, part 2 will embrace the incredible colour of the African environment.
