The 3rd annual Bird Photographer of the Year competition has just released their shortlisted entries highlighting the best of global bird photography. Bird Photographer of the Year is a competition that celebrates the artistry of bird photography and promotes conservation by contributing directly to the British Trust for Ornithology to support their conservation research. I had never entered before and decided to put a few selected images forward into 7 of the 8 competition categories.
This year the competition received a total of 9,584 entries from 3,000 photographers excluding the Young photographer of the year category. I am pleased to say that I had some success with a few short listed image and crowd favourite selections. The announcement of final winners with occur in August 2018 with full details found at https://www.photocrowd.com/photo-competitions/photography-awards/bpoty-2018/
